The 8th of December marks the time of year when, in the Zen tradition, we remember and honour Buddha’s awakening.  In some monasteries in the world, this is marked with a late night, or even an ALL night sitting. 

Here in London we will have an additional Saturday program as follows: The following schedule will be silent except the chanting of the Hannya Shingyo at the end.

Saturday 7th December:

    • 08:30 – Dojo opens

    • 09:00 – 09:30 zazen

    • 09:30 – 09:40 kinhin

    • 09:40 – 10:10 zazen

    • 10:10 – 10:20 kinhin

    • 10:20 – 10:50 zazen

    • 10:50 – 11:30 – Break – Silent

    • 11:30 – 12:00 zazen

    • 12:00 – 12:10 kinhin

    • 12:10 – 12:40 zazen

    • 12:40 – 12:50 kinhin

    • 12:50 – 13:20 zazen

    • 13:20 – Hannya Shingyo, closing and samu

    • 13:40ish –  some of us will go to the the cafe to eat and socialise afterwards – come along if you like (optional)

Please note : this event is not appropriate for first-timers as there will be no introduction, and little talk.  There is however our regularly scheduled Saturday afternoon introduction and zazen with introduction starting at 16:20 and zazen beginning at 17:00 –

Cost:

We run entirely by donations – we are recommending a donation of £15 for Saturday – or as you can afford.
