Zen Day in Norwich with Zen Nun Susanne Kukies
This will be a Zazen Day with Zen Nun Susanne Kukies to be held in Norwich
The day day will be preceded by zazen followed by a light meal on friday evening 13th June at 6:00PM
The Teacher:
Susanne Kukies started to practice zazen in Berlin in 1992 with Master Deshimaru’s close disciple Bernard Poirier. Today she is a disciple of Rei Ryu Philippe Coupey from whom she received Nun’s ordination in 2002. She has been responsible3 for the Mokudogen Dojo in Berlin since 2002. This is her first visit to Norwich. She will teach in English
Please bring :
- loose, dark-coloured clothing for zazen
- a bowl and cutlery along with a cloth to wrap them in (for lunch)
- a zafu and zafuton (matt) if you have them

The Marlpit Community Centre – Hellesdon Road, Norwich NR6 5EG
– Situated off the A1047 Norwich to East Dereham Road. Turn down Marlpit Lane at the traffic lights by Aldi Supermarket. Turn right at the bottom of the hill into Hellesdon Road and the centre is on the Left Net to the pub.
Busses 23, 23A, 24 from the railway station all stop at the Aldi supermarket . The walk to the centre from there is about 5 – 10minutes
Cost: £25 for Saturday alone or £29 for both Friday and Saturday. Concessions available, please ask.
