There will be Rakusu/Kesa sewing  at the Cally Road Dojo this evening.

Start time:  17:00 – Ending around 20:00

Kesas and Rakusus are sewing by those who are preparing for ordination, either as a Monk or Nun, or who are going to be receiving the precepts in the Bodhisattva ordination ceremony.   This is sewing Buddha’s robe,  which is Buddha’s teaching and ultimately, Buddha.

Rakusus or Kesas can also be sewn as a gift.

It’s very important that you discuss this with a teacher  (Godo), particularly before starting on a Kesa.

If you require any special supplies (thread, cloth, pencil, needles etc) please advise Paddy (or Mathew) in advance.

As always, a small fusé (donation) to the dojo will be appreciated (these help cover  extra expenses like gas and electric)
