This will be a full day of zen practice with Zen Teacher Hōsei Lana Berrington.
The Teacher: Hōsei Lana Berrington began practising zazen in London in early 2001, receiving the precepts in 2003, and tokudo (nun) ordination in 2006 from her Master, Mokuhō Guy Mercier. Lana has been responsible for the North London Zen Group since 2011, and the Warren Street group before that. Lana received dharma transmission in 2025 from her Master.

Meditation mats (zabutons) will be provided, and cushions (zafus) will be available if needed — but please do bring your own zafu if you have one.
Lunch: This day of practice will include a formal oryoki (Zen-style) meal eaten from a bowl — if you have an oryoki set, please bring it.
Introductions: Those who have never done silent meditation in the Soto Zen tradition (zazen) should come for an introduction on a Monday or Thursday evening before the event at the Caledonian Road Dojo – Basement, 486 Caledonian Rd, London N7 9RP.

Following the Zen Day on October 12th, there will be a Jukai (Precepts) ceremony in the North London Dojo at Caledonian Road with limited spaces. If you wish to attend this ceremony as a guest please contact the event organiser.
