Rohatsu (Buddha’s Awakening) Sittings at the Caledonian Road Dojo

Rohatsu (Buddha’s Awakening) Sittings at the Caledonian Road Dojo

The 8th of December marks the time of year when, in the Zen tradition, we remember and honour Buddha’s awakening.  In some monasteries in the world, this is marked with a late night, or even an ALL night sitting.

Here in London we will have an extended Friday and an additional Saturday program as follows:

  • 19:00 – Kinhin
  • 19:10 – 19:40 Zazen
  • 19:45 – 20:00 Tea will be served in the dojo
  • 20:00 – 21:00 Talk/discussion on Rohatsu / Buddha’s Awakening

Saturday 9th December:

  • 14:30 – Dojo opens
  • 15:00 – 15:30 zazen
  • 15:30 – 15:40 kinhin

Please note : this event is not appropriate for first-timers as there will be no introduction, and little talk.

Cost: We run entirely by donations – we are recommending a donation of £15 for Saturday – or as you can afford.

This event is currently fully booked – please email cally@zeninlondon.org to be put on the waiting list for if a space opens up 🙂
