Kesa / Rakusu Sewing at Cally Road Dojo this evening
There will be Rakusu/Kesa sewing at the Cally Road Dojo this evening.
Kesas and Rakusus are sewing by those who are preparing for ordination, either as a Monk or Nun, or who are going to be receiving the precepts in the Bodhisattva ordination ceremony. This is sewing Buddha’s robe, which is Buddha’s teaching and ultimately, Buddha.
Rakusus or Kesas can also be sewn as a gift.
It’s very important that you discuss this with a teacher (Godo), particularly before starting on a Kesa.
If you are planning on attending, PLEASE let Lana know by phone, email or text
If nobody signs up, or lets me know by email that they are coming, I will assume that nobody is coming, and take the evening/afternoon off .
If you require any special supplies (thread, cloth, pencil, needles etc) please advise Lana in advance.
As always, a small fusé (donation) to the dojo will be appreciated (these help cover extra expenses like gas and electric)
