Led by:
This sesshin will be led by Seiho Chris Priest who has been practising Zen at the Bristol Zen Dojo since 1989. He was introduced to the practice by Nancy Nanshin Amphoux, and ordained by Jean Shogen Baby in 1992. He continues to practice and teach under the guidance of his master, Guy Mokuho Mercier.
Arrival:
Wednesday 20th November
As the sesshin will include a silent day on Friday 22nd please aim to arrive no later than Thursday evening 21st.
Departure:
Sunday 24th November before 10:00am (or Saturday evening after 6)
Please plan to stay for the clean up on Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
The Youth Hostel is situated off the A149 coast road in Sheringham behind St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, a 5 minute walk from the railway station.
How to get there
Take the train directly to Sheringham. Trains run from Norwich once an hour (www.greateranglia.co.uk).
National Express Coach and Megabus services both go to Norwich where you can take a bus or train to Sheringham. Bus nos. 44, 44a, X44 and X40 run every 30 minutes. See Sanders Coaches (www.sanderscoaches.com/timetables).
What to bring
Dark, loose-fitting clothes for zazen, and clothes for samu (work in the kitchen, cleaning or gardening).
A zafu and zafuton if you have one (some spares will be available).
Bowls and cutlery and cloths to wrap them in. If possible, a set of three nesting bowls (oryoki) or one bowl and pickle dish.
Your own mug for drinks.

Recommended: Friends of IZAUK – £185 Non-members – £205
Low wage: Friends of IZAUK – £160 Non-members – £180
Unwaged: Friends of IZAUK – £130 Non-members – £150
Those booking before 6th November with full payment or a deposit of £25 will receive a £20 discount on the above prices.
