DESCRIPTION:The 8th of December marks the time of year when, in the Zen tradition, we remember and honour Buddha’s awakening.  In some monasteries in the world, this is marked with a late night, or even an ALL night sitting. \n\n\nHere in London we will have an additional Saturday program as follows: The following schedule will be silent except the chanting of the Hannya Shingyo at the end.\n\n\n\n\nSaturday 7th December:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n08:30 – Dojo opens\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n09:00 – 09:30 zazen\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n09:30 – 09:40 kinhin\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n09:40 – 10:10 zazen\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n10:10 – 10:20 kinhin\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n10:20 – 10:50 zazen\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n10:50 – 11:30 – Break – Silent\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n11:30 – 12:00 zazen\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n12:00 – 12:10 kinhin\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n12:10 – 12:40 zazen\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n12:40 – 12:50 kinhin\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n12:50 – 13:20 zazen\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n13:20 – Hannya Shingyo, closing and samu\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n13:40ish –  some of us will go to the the cafe to eat and socialise afterwards – come along if you like (optional)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease note : this event is not appropriate for first-timers as there will be no introduction, and little talk.  There is however our regularly scheduled Saturday afternoon introduction and zazen with introduction starting at 16:20 and zazen beginning at 17:00 –\n\n\nCost:\nWe run entirely by donations – we are recommending a donation of £15 for Saturday – or as you can afford.\nRegistration:\nTHIS EVENT IS FULLY BOOKED AT THE MOMENT  – BUT PLEASE EMAIL lana@berrington.ca ( mailto:lana@berrington.ca ) IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO GO ON THE WAITING LIST, PEOPLE DO CANCEL 🙂
