DESCRIPTION:IZAUK Zen Sesshin – Led by Taiun Jean-Pierre Faure – 28May – 3 June\nAbout the Teacher:\nTaiun Jean-Pierre Faure, born 1945, is the father of three children. He holds a PhD in physics and has been practising zazen since 1977. He was  ordained a monk by Master Deshimaru in 1981. He created the Marrakech Dojo, then became head of the Toulon Dojo. From 1997 to 2002 he  was the head of La Gendronnière Temple. 20 years after the death of Master Taisen Deshimaru, he received Dharma transmission from Master  Dônin Minamisawa Zenji (Head of Eiheiji Temple in Japan) and became a certified teacher of the Sôtô Zen School. Today, he is the founding  abbott of Kanshoji Temple in La Coquille, near Limoges, France (www.kanshoji.org)\nDates:\nArrival: 28th May, 2023 – from 4pm\nDeparture: 3rd June, 2023 – after clean up. Please plan on staying for clean up. We will need your help.\nVenue:\nWhite Hall Outdoor Centre\nLong Hill\nBuxton\nSK17 6SX\nWhat to Bring:\nDark, loose-fitting clothes for zazen and clothes for samu (work in the kitchen, cleaning or gardening). Indoor slippers/shoes. A zafu and zabuton (meditation cushion and mat) if you have them (spares available). Three nesting bowls, the largest approx 13 cm in diameter (any bowls will do). A spoon, fork, and cloth (eg tea towel) to wrap the bowls.\nPrecepts:\nIf you wish to receive the precepts at this sesshin please contact the organiser as soon as possible.\nAnnual General Meeting of the Friends of IZAUK will take place at this sesshin on Wednesday 31st May in the afternoon. It will include the election of the Friends Trustee.\nCost:\nFriends of Izauk Members:\n\nRecommended: £240, Low waged: £190, Unwaged: £160\n\nNon Members\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRecommended: £255, Low waged: £205, Unwaged: £170\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThose booking before 14th MAY with full payment, or deposit of £25 will receive a £20 discount on the above prices.
